Medical Evacuation of Cardiac Patient from Cruise Ship Offshore Miami

Summary: A 71-year-old male passenger aboard the 'Oasis of the Seas' cruise ship suffered cardiac issues while the ship was three miles offshore near the Miami Sea Buoy outside Government Cut. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, including Fireboat 73 and Air Rescue North, coordinated with the Coast Guard for a medevac operation. Due to rough seas, initial attempts to transfer the patient by fireboat were abandoned, and a helicopter hoist operation was conducted from the ship's bow helipad. The patient was successfully evaluated and hoisted off the ship for further medical care.
