We are very sad to hear this, but not surprised. We moved our son back home with us in Jefferson on 09/11/25 after receiving a call from the New Hope Village On-call supervisor that our son was at the ER in Carroll after having a seizure. When we packed him up to bring him home and the NHV staff gave us his medication packets, we noticed that he had not been given his anti-seizure meds on the evening of 09/10/25 or on the morning of 09/11/25. His lab results showed that his 2 med levels were both under safe limits. This was the final straw after having submitting numerous reports to DHS with ample evidences of neglect of our son’s care and refusal by NHV management and even the CEO to establish the corrections needed by the group home staff. Prior to this incident, we removed our son from the NHV Day Hab program because staff informed us that our son was left unattended with a female member with a known habit of telling male members to touch her chest, which she did toward our son.
